Warmisham brandishes the ‘race card’!

I’ve just read a tweet from Cllr. John Warmisham where he accuses Lib Dem Steve Middleton of using racist language for utilising the phrase ‘pot calling the kettle black’ ( http://twitter.com/Cllrjwarmisham ). He advises Steve to check the meanings of old sayings. Such irony. Clearly Cllr. Warmisham has not checked the phrase’s origins himself if he had then he’d realise what utter nonsense he’s spouted. In fact – I’d say this was yet another clear case of the pot calling the kettle black on Cllr. Warmisham’s part – twice in two consecutive tweets: takes a special kind of talent that!

And just for Cllr. Warmisham’s benefit – since he clearly cannot manage tricky research like using Google himself:

Steve Middleton is owed an apology.

Mr. Middleton will be waiting a long time for that.

Matthew Sephton has more chance of a romantic holiday in Uganda.

I’m getting used to it now. It’s a regular occurrence for Cllr Warmisham to spout such nonsense (on Twitter, on blogs etc).

All I can say is, he must be *REALLY* worried about the local elections in 2010. Not once has he tried to tackle me over policy, it has always been personal.

Quite what Mathew Sephton has to do with this…….I have no idea!

Are we paying for him to spend time tweeting nonsense like this? I hope not…

Sadly Rydal – we often are. Cllrs Warmisham and Conservative Iain Lindley are frequent tweeters during council meetings. Personally, I don’t have a problem with this if it’s about informing residents about what’s going on rather than what we normally see. Other councillors have been known to sleep, read the newspaper, or do the crossword. I’d like to see council debates streamed live on the Internet myself – that’s improve resident access a lot better than twitter.
