BNP, Hammers, and an army of Gnomes!
Read on the BBC site that the North West BNP were attacked last night whilst having a fundraising do. A mob of anti-fascist campaigners attacked their vehicles with hammers and one BNP member ended up in casualty after a hammer blow to the head. Now I despise all that the BNP stand for with a passion and think they’re utterly horrible people to boot, but this kind of behaviour from the anti-fascists really gets my goat. Fighting hatred in this way is utterly counter productive – the BNP activists will feel vindicated and provoked to further heights and those opposed to them end up getting tarred with the same brush – as violent thugs like the racists themselves. I’m quite prepared to debate the merits of allowing a neo-fascist party to stand in elections – I might even be prepared to concede that anti-democratic parties should not be allowed an electoral platform, but hitting your opponents in the face with hammers is appalling and horrific behaviour.

On a lighter note – every so often when you’re out leafleting something makes you smile so hard it hurts. Today, we were first buoyed by someone coming out with one of our leaflets to tell us how much they agreed with everything we had to say, and then we saw this:

There is a point where madness becomes genius - is this it? I think so.

Was not going to bother contacting you again Steve but in the light of this disgraceful and murderous attack on a NICE man (who happens to have a Chinese partner). Who are the violent thugs Steve? In all the years I have been a member of the BNP I have never seen or heard of ONE act of anything that could be described as violent or subversive. Your half hearted sympathy on the hammer attack is nearly commendable until you remember that on a previous blog of yours, the site, time and date of the BNP meeting to UAF / Searchlight cronies and friends who duly attended, where around 30 FULLY ARMED great unwashed types smashed up BNP members vehicles before the attempted murder with a claw hammer. The meeting went ahead (as they always do) where a great amount was raised for the Euro elections. Since the attack massive amounts of more money has been pledged with more members joining up. The normal people of this Country are finally realising where the real threats come from.

Are you really suggesting that because someone who is an ideological opponent of mine posted about your meeting in my comments section that somehow I am responsible for the disgraceful attack I have written about? I’ve condemned the attack – I think the idiots who were involved are an embarrassment to the cause they claim to represent (personally, I think it’s simple gang mentality tribalism for most of them) – you can get stuffed if you think you can attribute some responsibility for it to me.

I have had it up to here with intellectually stunted racists posting crap on my blog, so from now on I’m going to be filtering anything that’s a) not directly relevant to the post and b) is BNP gibberish. I’m tightening up posting until after the election. Regular posters should not be affected.

I’ve been away over the weekend and so I’ve only just become aware of this.
As Steve Cooke’s “ideological opponent” who provided details of the BNP rally/ UAR demo in a previous comment I must second Steve in asserting that it is outrageous of anyone to suggest that Steve had any responsibility whatsoever for the appalling crime which was committed.
The crime that was committed only serves to testify to my concerns expressed in a previous comment about some anti-racists being as full of hatred as some members of the BNP.
I hope and pray that all involved in committing crime on Friday night will be swiftly brought to justice.
