Hi Steve,

Hope you won’t mind me posting this (though it is off-topic) but there’s an important political meeting that’s just been organised last-minute in Salford for later this week.

Date/Time/Venue: Thursday 8th May, 7:30pm, Salford Cathedral (free admission).

Meeting: “Passion For Life.”

Organisers: the All Party Parliamentary Pro-Life Group.

Confirmed Speakers: Lord David Alton, Conservative Cllr. Fiona Bruce, Mr. Jim Dobbin M.P. (chair of all party group).

Ann Widdecombe M.P. is presently unconfirmed as a speaker but may join the above.

The results are terrific! Now we need to spill some Labour blood in the General Election. Let’s hope this is a sign of things to come and that Blears and Keeley will be defeated.

No figures yet for Manchester, the council haven’t updated their website yet and the Evening News site doesn’t seem to be playing ball either.

We won Miles Platting & Newton Heath and Northenden (the latter by 8 votes on a double recount), but lost Longsight to Labour. Labour did take the Green seat in Hulme, but failed to take target seats in the City Centre (which had a shocking 15% turnout) and Whalley Range.

The Tories were shut out of Manchester yet again….
