Weekend
This weekend I devoted some time to understanding the complicated morass of laws and proceedures surrounding local government finance. Hopefully I’ll be fully prepared for the presentation of our alternative budget come next year. I also managed to get some good research done on homelessness issues, which should leave me well prepared for Thursday’s commission on homelessness at the Council. I really hope that the other councillors have the will to really deliver on this issue.
On Sunday, whilst I was reading about the appalling practices of developed nations vis-a-vis their manipulation of WTO loopholes to take advantage of poor countries, I happend to hear a story on the news that cheared me up no end.
